Tracking each stage of production of an automobile has become vital to any world-class automaker. With the vision and execution of "Intelligent Factories" with Industry 4.0, the productive processes are aligned with the principles of interoperability and modularity. For example RFID tags applied from the insertion of the monoblock in the line, accompany the vehicle throughout the assembly process, through the paint oven, to the final quality control. With the application of RFID technology and virtualization of data interconnected by sensing, it is possible to make models of simulations, greatly increased the flexibility of production, being able to manufacture several models and configurations in a same production line. The auto parts industry has also used RFID on a large scale by applying Industry 4.0 concepts, for example in the identification of headlights, air conditioning systems, motors, etc.
