HID Welcomes Vizinex to its IDT Family
As announced on May 17, Vizinex RFID has become the newest member of the IDT family! Founded in 2012, and based in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, Vizinex RFID adds a US manufacturing site to the Identification Technologies (IDT) Business Area of HID. It brings specific expertise on the custom design and manufacturing of PCB-based RFID tags called “Sentry” which will form a new product family within HID’s industrial tag offering.
The acquisition increases HID Global’s presence and relevance in key vertical markets including healthcare / medical devices, manufacturing, oil & gas, data centers, etc. and adds a key technology to HID Global’s industry-leading RFID tag portfolio.
HID Acquires Brazilian RFID Tech Leader ACURA
Announced on June 21, HID Global has also acquired the Brazilian manufacturer and reseller of RFID hardware, ACURA. The acquisition enhances HID Global’s RFID portfolio while expanding the company’s presence and relevance in Latin America.
The addition of ACURA provides HID with an added operations and manufacturing footprint in Brazil, highlighting the company’s commitment to solidify its business in key markets.
Founded in the late 1990s, ACURA quickly became a leading manufacturer and reseller of RFID hardware products in Brazil, primarily targeting enterprise, industrial, logistics, transportation and retail applications for large-scale customers such as Ambev, Sensormatic/JCI, Nike/Centauro, Mercedes Benz, Honda Motors, HP and more.

HID Takes a Closer Look at InvoTech’s Acuity and Smart Textiles
Laundry and linen inventory management as well as other related operations are undergoing a significant digital transformation, due to the power of RFID technology and cloud-based software solutions.

HID wins AIM case Study Award 2022 for Passive Sensing Solution
HID has won the AIM 2022 Case Study Award for our RFID sensor tag to measure temperature and strain in GE Hydro‘s hydroelectric power generators, utilizing specialized sensor chips from Asygn. This sophisticated solution helps generators to run at optimum levels, while at the same time reducing maintenance costs.

How RAIN® RFID Helps Scale up Fish Counts
During recent World Fish Migration Day (World Fish Migration Foundation), conservationists highlighted the need to keep the world’s rivers healthy to help migratory fish populations to recover. In addition to dams blocking access to breeding grounds and pollution of rivers and oceans, fish face a number of challenges which threaten their survival and sustainability as a global food source.
Omni-ID (a HID Global - Identification Technologies company), as part of a three-way consortium, was awarded a Eurostars / Innovate UK funded project to develop a UHF tag and reader system that could be used to count multiple fish simultaneously, with a longer read range between the shoal and RFID reader. It was great to meet customers and industry players again in a live setting!
- The Hotel Show, May 24-26, Dubai UAE. The Middle East remains one of the most attractive hospitality markets in the world, with a constant stream of investment and a growing number of projects being announced. As the longest running and most influential face-to-face trade event in the region for hospitality, The Hotel Show Dubai has been connecting regional buyers with global suppliers for over 20 years. HID Textile Services presented its Linen Management Platform ACUITY on Assa Abloy Global Solutions’ booth, including a u-Door Cabin, TTS500 table-top station and a TSL handheld reader.
- LogiMAT, May 31 – June 02, Stuttgart, Germany. HID joined a whooping 1,571 exhibitors from 39 countries to showcase products, systems, and solutions for reliable automation and digital transformation.
