  • Proposed Challenge:

The challenge was to identify the passage of each wagon without compromising the performance of the workers. During the journey and when it arrived at the terminals, the workers always had to check if the wagon that was there, should be in that line or not.

  • Equipment:

UHF M6 reader, Compact Monostatic Antenna and UHF Ironside Tags.

  • Solution:

Use of UHF RFID tags specific to metal surfaces and that support harsh environments in wagons and readers along stretches and terminals.

  • Operation:

The tag is applied on the wagon and antennas and readers are installed in specific sections and railroad terminals. When the train passes through these points, the reader identifies the wagon already doing the automatic verification of the wagon, guaranteeing greater efficiency and practicality, without the need of human intervention.

  • Differentials / Practical Improvements:

This automated system avoids the presence of staff to conference wagons.

  • Gains / Benefits:

Improved traceability and practicality required for the operation of ALL.
