Who are we?

ACURA Part of HID (formerly known as Acura Technologies) was founded in the late 1990s, with the vision of introducing and mastering Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology in the Brazilian market. The founder and CEO, Marcos Honda, was the key figure who drove the company from its inception.
ACURA did not just resell products, but quickly established itself as one of Brazil's main manufacturers and resellers of RFID hardware. This pioneering spirit and the ability to offer tailored solutions enabled fast and solid growth, focused on high-demand applications.
Over the years, the company consolidated its reputation as a trusted consultant and market leader, serving a large client base in crucial sectors:

Transport and Mobility: We provide the RFID identification technology that enables automatic, non-stop toll collection, optimizing the flow of vehicles on highways and roads. The precision and robustness of our readers are essential for high read success rates, even at speed. Through advanced solutions, we manage access in ports, airports, large logistics centers, parking lots, and condominiums. This includes real-time fleet monitoring and ensuring that only authorized vehicles circulate in restricted areas.

Industry and Logistics: We develop and implement systems that solve complex challenges for market leaders such as Ambev, Cargill, Nike, Centauro, Mercedes Benz, and many others. Our RFID solutions ensure complete supply chain visibility, from raw material to the final product. This optimizes inventory, reduces losses due to diversion or counterfeiting, and increases data accuracy. In industry, we monitor parts, tools, and products at different manufacturing stages, raising operational efficiency and quality control on production lines.

The Acquisition Milestone: Strategic Union with HID Global

In June 2022, ACURA Technologies reached a new and significant chapter in its history by being acquired by HID Global.
HID Global is a worldwide leader in trusted identity solutions and an ASSA ABLOY Group brand. This acquisition represented a strategic move for both companies:

Strengthening HID Global: The acquisition expanded HID’s RFID portfolio and, crucially, expanded its presence and manufacturing capability in Brazil. HID Global recognized ACURA’s regional expertise and its position as a consultant for product customization.

New Level for ACURA: For ACURA, the union meant access to a global network of technology, resources, and a broader portfolio. According to Marcos Honda, the founder, the acquisition took ACURA's long-term commitment to a new level in the development of next-generation RFID solutions.
